Florida's Salute to Excellence Awards honors ProStart and LMP students, scholarship recipients, Pineapple Awards (ProStart/LMP Teacher and Industry Participant of the Year.) and ProStart Competiton winners.  The awards dinner takes place on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at the Rosen Plaza Hotel in Orlando at 6:00 pm. All Florida ProStart and LMP teachers may attend the dinner free of charge.

The reservation deadline is Friday, January 27, 2012.

HOTEL RESERVATIONS

The Rosen Plaza hotel rooms are being held on a space available basis.  They are providing a room rate of $129 per night or $146.58 (including taxes).  The room rate is being held under the "Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association."  To access this rate, you must use the group name when making your reservation.  The current room rate online is $255.67 so you want to make your reservation using our group.  You can access the room block until February 3.  However, the room rate is only available if the hotel is not full.  We recommend you make your hotel reservations today.  You have until February 15 to make changes or cancel your reservation.  All reservations require a deposit of one room night and tax.  To contact the hotel, please call 800-627-8258.

The Pineapple Awards recognize one ProStart and LMP teacher and one ProStart and LMP Industry Participant who have demonstrated a commitment to the program through dedication to their ProStart/LMP students.

LMP teachers may be nominated using the following criteria:

-LMP Teacher must have taught the LMP curriculum at least one year.

-LMP Industry Participant must currently employ an LMP student and/or work with students within the context of your program and/or provide financial support.

All Pineapple Award recipients will be recognized during the Florida Salute to Excellence Awards on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at the Rosen Plaza Hotel in Orlando at 6:00 pm.
